At Mima and Papa's House
Our first evening: we went on a walk together. Benjamin was already attached to "Papa." He felt like big stuff holding Papa's hand and "helping" him put the garage door up and down.
The Many Occupations of Miss Talia Ruth...
Here is Talia at her favorite spot in the kitchen...the door stop. She loved twanging that spring. And she was completely obsessed with fitting the little rubber stopper back on the end every time it came off.
After an afternoon nap I carried my disheveled girl into my parents' room to see my mom. Talia immediately began croaking in her sweet little post-nap voice, "Up. Bed. Mima. Bed." What a princess :)
We had a great time at the pool. Talia takes awhile to get used to the water, but always ends up having a great time swimming. This time her favorite activity was being "motored" around in her floatie by Mama. (She provided the motor sounds.)
Keeping Benjamin Busy...
Benjamin loved all the attention he got from Uncle Kevin and Auntie Erin at the pool. He especially loved throwing the tennis ball to Uncle Kevin.
Benjamin loves musical instruments and can identify quite a few by sight. I thought it would be fun to have Uncle Kevin show him Mima's guitar. He was pretty timid about strumming it. I think he was in awe.
Mima had a little sandbox out on the back porch for Benjamin to play in. He has never really played in sand before. He had a great time. Unfortunately sandy hands and his long, thick eyelashes didn't mix well. We had to get out the Visine...twice. Good thing we didn't go to the beach!
One of our special outings was this trip to the frozen yogurt shop. My parents had found a special store that had a dairy free option for Benjamin! It was both of the kids' first experience with "ice cream." Benjamin finished every last drop of his. Talia needed a little help. :)
